About this talk

The state of small business right now is a challenging one. The latest Xero Small Business Insights data, from July, saw the Index take a dive of 41 points.

Up until this point, we’d been on a steady recovery path and even some of the hardest-hit industries were able to reignite. Sales and jobs have dropped year-on-year, and the states in lockdown (NSW and Victoria) fared far worse.

As the current situation persists and most of our major cities are in lockdown, it’s likely that this downward trend is likely to continue. But Australian small businesses are undoubtedly strong, resilient and innovative. In this panel session hear from:

  • Managing Director of Xero Australia - Joseph Lyons
  • Leading Demographer and Executive Director of The Demographics Group - Bernard Salt AM
  • Director of Laurus Bookkeeping and XPAC Member - Cassandra Scott
  • Co-owner of NCB Plumbing - Georgina Borland

They will be discussing shifts in the state of small business and the future trends that will guide and inform your practices and opportunities for your clients.
